高齢者が昼間フラフラ出かける事は自殺行為だと思います。僕は3時過ぎ日差しが少し緩んだ頃慎重に買い物に出かけます。
僕は職人をしていましたので、夏の日差しがいかに殺人的かを知っています。炎天下、どうしてもやらなければいけない仕事はせいぜい30分が限度。頑健な人も危ないです。理由は自分の体に対する過信です。気持ち悪くなって、フラフラと自動車にたどり着きクーラーをガンガンかけてかろうじて生き返ったと1人で仕事していた仕事仲間から後から聞かされました。もう少し遅れていたら、、倒れても、誰も周りに人がいなかったらと考えると、…恐ろしいことです。
もう1人は家に帰ってから気持ち悪くなって倒れたと言っていました。熱射病ですね。これも翌朝聞いて冷や汗が出たもんです。
植木屋さんは真夏午前中10時までしか仕事しません。皇居に出入りを許されている植木屋さんから直接聞きました。
今はクーラー付きの作業服着たりとかミストが出る扇風機を身近に置いているようですが、油断はできません。
こうなってきますと、熱気から身を守るために街のあちこちに本格的な熱気よけのシェルターが必要になってきますね。
すべての公共施設や大型店舗はシェルターになる。区役所図書館、ファミリーレストラン、地区センター、特別養護老人施設などなど。
規模としては小さいですが、街のあちこちに民間の居場所がもっとたくさん増えればこれもシェルターになり得ると思います。
葛飾区の社会福祉協議会でも、街の居場所…つまり使える社会資源のアンケート調査が始まったようです。ボランティア活動をしている友人から教えてもらいました。
立ってるものは、親でも使え…などということわざがありますが、社会状況はもう近所の使える施設や個人住宅でさえ利用しなければならないほど悪化していると大げさに言えば、言えなくもない。
行政が民活に本腰を入れ出したということなのだと思います。それほど切羽詰まってきた。
話題がちょっと飛びますが…これから10年、20年、本格的な高齢者の多死時代がやってきます。ここでたくさんのノウハウを積み重ねて、次の時代の人にバトンタッチと行きたいところです。そんなソフトランディングを成功させるためにも、自分の身の回りの環境整備が望まれるわけです。終末期をそれぞれが納得のいく方法で締めくくるために。
言うは易く行うは難し。
難問山積でも少しでも解決に向けてなんらかの努力をすることならできそうだ。結論からさかのぼっていく日常生活。
さて昼に何を食うかと夏食後
平穏な日々は気持ちを遊ばせながら所々に旗を立てておく。フラッグを置く。誰でもそれに気づく。お互いがお互いのフラッグを確認しておけば、変化はすぐにわかる。
ご近所力はこうして高めていけばいい。なんでこんな簡単なことに気がつかなかったんだろう。変化を感じる直感力が衰えている時代にはシステムに頼る、、さてそれはなんだ。
次のステップはそれだな。個人の定点観測。
心の変化は、書いたもの、描いたもの、歌、声、絵、日記、行動に現れる。挨拶を交わす声に現れる。それをお互いにチェックする仕組みを見える化すればいい。どうやって？
岡目八目。顔色を見れば、変化は明らか。せめてそこまでの理解はお互いに確認しておきたい。その人のフラッグは、何か、そして立ち上がったそのフラッグをお互いに確認しあえる環境作り。これを難しいと言ってしまえば、話はそこでぷっつん。
その人の考え方、習慣、覚悟は必ずチェックしなければいけない項目だと思う。
人が人に興味を持たなくなったらおしまいだ。
それもそうだし、自分自身に興味もあるから、僕らは明日も生きていける。やることやったら…
